Your esports portfolio is not what you think it should be.
 
Where many people focus on who you are, instead, demonstrate how you do things. 
 
Over the years, I have spoken to hundreds of esports coaches, all with a different story. But at the same time, it is a potato pataato situation, similar stories when you look at the core… where nothing truly stands out. 
 
99% of the portfolio's in esports make little to no difference. Why?
 
Because in the end, it is the person who they can trust will get the job, not the one who has the right credentials. Weird right? But it is more logical than you think. Let me explain how that works. 
 
Many coaches focus on saying what skills they have and what they have done in the past. You know… your typical portfolio…
 
They also include “their work” like a presentation for a training to “showcase” what they do. 
 
But in esports you have so much more leverage and opportunities because of the digital space you are in. 
 
Yes, all of this is nice and all, and some managers, players and other staff who have to judge you will be impressed… but this isn’t landing you the job… because it is not enough. but this will…
 
Instead of showcasing WHAT you do, you will want to include HOW you do it. 
 
Explain HOW you will showcase your coach values and philosophy instead of telling them what your values and philosophy is. How does it look like? 
 
And now comes the true next level tactic that I have only seen 1% of the coaches nail….
 
They include recordings of LIVE coaching material where they SEE and HEAR you coach on a certain subject, and then ANOTHER RECORDING of your players actually listening and applying it into their gameplay with a desired result. 
 
So first they read your portfolio with what and how you do it.
Then you showcase how you explain the thing that you are implementing
Then you showcase how your players apply the thing that you have taught them with success. 
 
You show them a complete transformation. Undeniably, evidence that you know what you are capable of.
 
THIS is how you make managers and orgs trust you, because they see your process and coaching approach exactly how it is. They KNOW (instead of thinking) what to expect and TRUST you 10 times more that you are able to do similar things as well.

If you are talking about wanting to skip steps to the professional level, this is one of the biggest leaps you can take.
